Students were tasked with creating a PSA flyer discussing a specific climate issue impacting the region they have been researching. Here are some various handouts that were created by students that were then given to the community during their borders PBL presentation.
This activity in specific was created to have students engage meaningfully with sources and articles they researched in a way that has them analyze them critically. They were not only focusing on the specific climate change issue, but were also analyzing who was being represented by the media and who was not. Power imbalances due to social, political, or other external differences can lead to very destructive effects, like climate issue impacts.
